NEWBASE PressArchive gives scan service providers everything necessary to convert centuries and tons of newspapers into full text article databases. It combines several NEWBASE modules to a unique software suite for the creation of large newspaper archives.

NEWBASE MasterCapture connects high-speed duplex scanners to the NEWBASE systems and manages any page number format.
If the newspaper pages are already available in an electronic format (pdf, jpg, png, tif), then NEWBASE Importserver stores the pages in the NEWBASE systems and makes them available for the block analysis.
NEWBASE EnhancedEvaluation identifies keywords and synonyms and matches articles to topics and classifications. Cutters then cut single articles including those continued on following pages with unparalleled speed. Automatic meta data extraction, free manual entry of additional meta data, flexible support of individual classification systems and automatic abstract generation provide the article databases with all necessary key information beside the full text and the article image itself.
The process of evaluating and cutting may also be separated by using the NEWBASE modules Evaluation and Cut&Paste thus allowing to have two independent workforces for classification and cutting.
If no classification is necessary then NEWBASE Cut&Paste will do everything you need.
NEWBASE ICR-Correction empowers quality insurance to only store 100% clean full text in the archive, navigating the readers only through those text areas where the OCR-software was not 100% sure of having read the text correctly.
The process of ICR-Correction may even be started after the articles have been published. This allows you to go online with a high quality article database with clean meta data and some errors in the article full text very fast, and improving the quality of the article full text step by step later.
NEWBASE Delivery exports the articles into database in any format or uploads the articles to portals. The original image of the article is available in different formats including pdfs with and without full text.
